Type: Evergreen tree

Size: 30 to 50’ high; 20’ high by 15’ wide typical at 12 yrs.

Flowers: Flowers inconspicuous; leaves 1-2 in. long, medium green. Long, graceful branchlets resemble weeping willow.

Uses: Specimen tree; be careful of surface roots forming shoots and invading flower beds. Fire resistive.

Wildlife: Deer resistive.

Soil: Well-drained. Disturbing the roots by cultivating may encourage suckers.

Water: Moderate; water deeply to keep roots deep and avoid suckers.

Sun: Full sun.

Pruning: Prune side branches to form tree, or leave them to develop multiple trunks.

Pests & Diseases: Resists oak root fungus.

Notes: Hardy to 20° F.
