Flowers: Pink to rose flowers, spring to summer; narrow, short gray-green leaves in clusters at end of branches; bark red-gray and interesting.

Uses: Background, fill, rock garden, slopes, near oaks.

Wildlife: Habitat for animals, butterfly larvae; nectar, seeds for birds, butterflies. Deer resistant.

Soil: Well-drained soil.

Water: Little to moderate.
