Soil: Well-drained.

Water: Occasional water inland.

Sun: Full.

Pruning: Cut back spent blooms by one-third for repeat bloom.

Notes: Native to several coastal islands as well as seacoast bluffs and foothills from Santa Barbara to Baja California. Part of the coastal sage community, it grows in open areas within the chaparral. Hardy to 30° F.
