Size: 6-8 ft. high and wide.

Flowers: Glossy blue to magenta to purple flowers, mid-spring through summer and throughout year; leaves are deeply lobed and dark green.

Uses: Color accent, background, patio tree, some salty air. Fire resistive.

Wildlife: Deer like.

Soil: Tolerates a variety, but must be well-drained.

Water: Low to medium.

Sun: Full sun.

Pruning: Prune or pinch to keep it small.

Pests & Diseases: Aphids and scale insects.

Notes: A. huguellii ‘White Swan’ has white flowers. These plants come from sand and gravel in dry areas of South and Western Australia. Use low-phosphorous fertilizer, if any. Same family as hibiscus. Hardy to 30° F.
