Soil: Porous, water-retaining, rich soil.
Water: Medium water. Overhead mist is best. More for pots.
Sun: Tolerates full sun; prefers some shade.
Pruning: Prune in spring before new growth begins, as new growth carries blooms.
Pests & Diseases: Rust, capsid bug, caterpillars, fuchsia gall mites. Cut off and destroy infected parts.
Notes: This is the parent of most hybrid fuchsias. Deciduous if frosted; but rebounds to 4 or 5 ft. in a single year. Hardy to 0° F.
